Nonprofit organizations need volunteers and can’t find them.
Meanwhile, high school students need service hours and don’t know where to earn them.
To assist both, the Community Roundtable will present its first Community Service Forum from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Bloomingdale High School cafeteria, 1700 Bloomingdale Ave. The event is free.
Some of the charities participating are the Emergency Care Help Organization (ECHO), Honor Flight Network, A Kid’s Place, RVR Horse Rescue, Portamento of Hope Café, YMCA, Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Association, Gold Star Families, Habitat for Humanity, All Children’s Hospital Guild and the Sylvia Thomas Center.
The evening also is open to adults looking for a way to help, newcomers wanting to know more about the community and recently retired folks desiring to stay involved.
