Field of Honor Ceremony and Dedication

The Veterans Council of Hillsborough County will conduct a special Field of Honor Ceremony on Saturday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park and Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum, 3602 U.S. Highway 301 N. in Tampa.
 
Several Gold Star Families will attend the quarterly remembrance in honor of servicemen and servicewomen who made the supreme sacrifice while engaged in our nation’s current War on Terror during April, May and June. 
 
The July 8 Field of Honor Ceremony will include the following names in tribute:
 

• Six ­­U.S. military personnel killed during Operation Inherent Resolve (Iraq, Syria and Yemen)
• ­­Two U.S. military personnel killed during Operation Freedom’s Sentinel (Afghanistan)
• One U.S. military member killed in U. S. Africa Command, Somalia
• Seven U.S. Navy personnel killed aboard the USS Fitzgerald during a collision in the Sea of Japan
• An Army Air Corps pilot missing in action during World War II whose remains were recently returned to the United States
• A  U. S. Navy sailor missing in action during the bombing at Pearl Harbor, HI  whose remains were recently  returned to the United States
• Fallen law enforcement officers lost in the line of duty since April 2017

• Dedication of new benches at the Field of Honor & Fallen Heroes Memorial, a project installation by Eagle Scout Walter Wahle of Troop 61 (Valrico), Boy Scouts of America
• Color Guard, Sea Cadets, Tampa Bay Division
• Missing Man Formation flyover by Ye Mystic Airkrewe
• Rifle salute and taps by the Sgt. Walter P. Ryan Detachment 1226, Marine Corps League, Riverview
• Patriotic music and refreshments by Mission BBQ, Tampa
