The 2017 Greater Hillsborough County Fair opens Thursday October 19th for two weekends of fun and entertainment!
Livestock shows, carnival rides and fair food are a staple at this annual event and the excitement doesn't stop there! Free entertainment includes Robinson's Racing and Swimming Pigs. Watch as they dash and splash for an Oreo cookie! The winner gets the cookie - the loser gets the crumbs!
The popular Firefighter Show returns featuring educational entertainment. Enjoy the show as firefighter extraordinaire Neal Snyder puts his young volunteers through their training.
Harriet's Family Circus returns with horses, circus thrills and aerial acts , along with the new Trampoline Wall. A great circus for the whole family to enjoy.
The County Fair boasts some of the largest youth livestock shows among county fairs in the southeastern United States. Dairy and beef cattle, rabbits, poultry, sheep, goats and pigs round out the array of over 800 animals that will be on display and competing in our showring.
Our new market turkey show comes just in time for Thanksgiving. 24 exhibitors started their project with day old turkey poults during the summer. Their turkeys will be judged and offered for sale by silent auction during the Fair.
For real excitement plan on attending one of our grandstand events. October 20th and 21st will feature the Gator Ford Rodeo with fast action on horseback and courageous bull riders.
The Neff Rental Truck and Tractor Pull is the featured grandstand event on October 27th and 28th . Trucks and Tractors big and small will fill the arena with smoke, noise, and excitement!
The Stepps Towing Demolition Derby will round out the grandstand events on Sunday October 29th. Cars crashing into each other until the last one moving is declared the champion!
Grandstand events are only $10 following your paid admission to the Fair. Purchase tickets in advance from one of our cooperating merchant locations for $10 and your admission to the Fair is FREE. Cooperating Merchant ticket outlet locations are available on our website.
Art, photography, recycled yard art, and home economic competitions are all located in our 7000 square foot air conditioned family living building. Don’t miss our Butterfly Experience also located in the Family Living Building.
New to the Fair this year is our STEM area. This tent focuses on educational displays and competitions in science, technology, engineering, and math. Interactive displays featuring Legos, building blocks, the corn encounter, 3D printing and more will be available. STEM competitions in drones and trebuchet (catapult) will also be held.
Two stages will feature Community Talent from children’s pageants and talent shows to the Battle of the Bands. Each Sunday area churches will perform in Our Gospel Jam.
New to Hometown Hillsborough, our Historical Area, is a 2500 square-foot building built to replicate a traditional on Farm Packing Shed. It will house many of the tools and equipment used in days gone by. The East Hillsborough County Historical Society will highlight the history of area churches in their building this year. Cane grinding, syrup boiling, Cowboy camp, six shooter gallery, storytelling and tool demonstrations round out our Hometown Hillsborough activities.
Arnold's Amusements provides some of the newest and safest family-oriented rides in the industry. Ride armbands are available every day for $20. Discounted Ride Armbands can be purchased online for only $15 by going to the County Fair website at www. HillsboroughCountyFair.com
Opening day, October 19th is Casper's Company Dollar Day at the Fair. Fair admission and each ride are only $1. Additionally, coupons are available at participating McDonald’s good for one free admission and one free ride compliments of Casper’s company.
Saturday October 28 th will be the annual Soil and Water Conservation plant auction. A great time to purchase quality plants for your home or business. Check the Fair website for all the details.
Regular Adult admission to the fair is only $7 , Students K -12 $5 and Seniors are $4, Five and under are free. Parking is FREE!
From cooking to rug hooking and baking to picture taking, from sowing to growing and animals large and small there's something for everyone at the annual Greater Hillsborough County Fair.
