Hillsborough County VFH & Tresspass Towing Hearing (Hybrid)

Description

This hearing is related to the Vehicle for Hire Ordinance 18-25 as amended & Trespass Towing, Immobilization and Rates Ordinance 18-17 as amended. The violations are for "Failure to pay the penalty fine for violations of the Ordinances within 30 days from the date of issuance of the Notice of Violation."

This Vehicle for Hire (VFH) and Trespass Towing hearing is a hybrid public hearing, so interested parties can participate virtually by means of communications media technology and in person. If there are no cases, the hearing will be canceled.

Upon review of the facts of the case, the Special Magistrate can impose a fine to include the initial penalty fine and additional daily fines if the violation has not been complied with by the set time or upon finding that a repeat violation has been committed pursuant to Section 162.09(1), Florida Statutes. The Special Magistrate shall have all of the powers granted to them in Resolutions R17-138 & R17-152 to include the power to issue subpoenas for production of documents or attendance of witnesses at hearing.

The hybrid format allows for in-person attendance at the location listed below, or virtual participation. Information on attending the hearing or making public comment virtually will be available at least 72 hours prior to the start of the hearing.
