Prepare for Solar Eclipse

Join local astronomer Tanja Diederich of StarSplitter Adventures for an informative presentation on what to expect and how to prepare to safely experience the solar eclipse visible in the United States on Aug. 21, 2017.  Although the eclipse will not be total in Florida, much of the sun will be covered and proper precautions are needed when looking directly at the sun.  Bring a shoe box or cereal box and learn how to make a pin-hole viewer to observe the eclipse without damaging the eyes.  Free solar eclipse viewing glasses courtesy of NASA and the Star_Net Project will be available to the first 75 participants.
