Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day

The Veterans Council of Hillsborough County along with the Veterans Museum and Parks Committee will be conducting the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony on Saturday March 23, 2013 at 11:00am. This annual event which will be held at the Hillsborough County Veterans Park and Museum 3602 US Highway 301N, Tampa is to honor all the Veterans that have served in Vietnam. Included in this celebration will be a special remembrance for those who did not make it back. The names of Sp4 Mark Jerald Carter USA Thonotosassa, Sgt. Charles Frederick Rein USA Tampa and Lcpl. John Owen Rhodes USMC Thonotosassa will be added to the Vietnam Memorial Wall. In addition there will be a special tribute honoring all of those who have been awarded the Medal of Honor in all the countries past and present conflicts. The master of ceremonies for this event will be the President of the Veterans Council of Hillsborough County, Walt Raysick. MajGen Karl Horst, the Chief of Staff, USCENTCOM will be the keynote speaker. Colors will be presented by the USMC Color Guard from MARCENT, MacDill AFB. The National Anthem will be sung by Jeanne Bush. The rifle salute and taps will be conducted by Marine Corps League Detachment #1226 from Riverview
